And remember, you lose more than water when you sweat, so you need to be adequately replacing electrolytes, as well. This includes sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium. You don’t necessarily need a fancy sports drink to get these electrolytes either. A well-balanced diet rich in fruits and veggies, healthy dairy choices along with nuts and seeds should provide these minerals without the added sugar.
